H&S Policy Statement

It is the policy of Eddie & The Murphys and its members to provide activities in a safe manner without risk, so far as is reasonably practicable. All band members have an individual responsibility for ensuring their own personal health and safety, and that of others who may be affected by their acts. All other responsibility relating to any event lies with the venue, event manager or the client hosting an event.

The band’s responsibilities include:

  • Co-operating with venue staff to ensure a safe set-up and stage area

  • Using equipment responsibly and for its intended purpose

  • Maintaining equipment to a reasonable and safe standard and rectifying any known faults

  • Reporting any risks to health and safety to the venue or client in charge

  • Taking out and maintaining relevant insurance policies to cover their liability

We will put this policy into practice by:

  • Bringing this policy to the attention of all band members

  • Carrying out risk assessments where possible and taking action to minimise risk

  • Reviewing this policy in the event of an incident or near miss, or once per year

Risk assessments will be carried out where prior access to a venue/stage is available and reasonably practical. If this is not the case, a dynamic risk assessment will be carried out by all band members at the time of an event.

Additional Measures due to outbreaks of COVID-19

Band members will comply with venue directions relating to social distancing, face coverings, entry/exit systems, hand washing and sanitising, and other related precautions.

The front of the performance area should be at least 2 metres away from guest tables or areas. Marker tape may be used to show the out-of-bounds area. The band’s equipment should not be handled by anyone other than band members. Vocal microphones should not be shared and where possible the band members may socially distance during performances.

Where required the band may adjust their playing or background music volume, set lengths, and breaks to assist with the venue’s COVID-safe measures. The band may play outside where reasonably possible and weather conditions don’t compromise electrical safety.

This Policy was reviewed on 12/05/2023 and will be reviewed again no later than 12/05/2024.
